How do I get to the hotel?

The closest airport to the hotel is Sandakan Airport (SDK) which is located around 13.6km away. It is a 30 minute drive from Sandakan Airport to Ormond Sandakan.

Is there parking on site?
Yes. Parking is free for all hotel and event guests.
Making a Booking
What is the check-in and check-out time?
Check-in time is 2PM and check-out time is 12PM.
Can I check-in early or request for late check-out? Can you store my luggage if my room is not ready?
Early check-in and/or late check-out at Ormond Sandakan are subject to availability upon request. If you would like an early check-in and/or late check-out, please let us know in advance. Depending on your request, there may be a small fee. We are happy to store and hold your luggage as long as you have a confirmed booking with us.
Can I modify my booking?
Unless stated in the rate plan, all bookings can be modified.
What is the hotel’s cancellation policy?
Unless stated otherwise in the rate plan, cancellations must be made 24 hrs before arrival to avoid a cancellation fee.
What is the prepayment policy at check-in?/ When will I be charged? Is there a deposit when booking a room?
A full non-refundable deposit for the entire stay is charged at the time of booking, unless stated otherwise in the rate plan.
Rooms & Amenities
What type of rooms do you have? And what are the rates?
We have 3 standard room types, and 4 suite types – starting from our Deluxe Twin Room (28.4 sqm) to the Ormond Suite (96.8 sqm). All our rooms and suites have a view of the sea and surrounding nature. Please visit our rooms page for more details and the latest rates.
What room amenities do you offer?
All our rooms and suites come with free high-speed WiFi, hair dryer, mini fridge, safe, iron and ironing board, coffee and tea facilities, luggage rack and bottled water. You may also enjoy bespoke organic toiletries from Jeanie Botanicals in all rooms and suites. Suite guests enjoy additional comfort amenities. Ormond Sandakan is committed to a more sustainable future. To reduce single-use waste, certain amenities are available only upon request and for a small fee. Just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide whatever you need.
Are the rooms serviced everyday?
Your room will be serviced by housekeeping once a day. To minimize our environmental impact towels and sheets will be changed every 3 days. If you would like new towels everyday, please leave them on the bathroom floor. If you would like your sheets to be changed more often, please let us know by dialling [0] for housekeeping.
Do you have baby cots?
Yes, baby cots are available upon request, subject to availability.
Can I smoke in the rooms?
No. We are a strict non-smoking property. Please do not smoke in your room or anywhere within the building. A fine of RM500 will be imposed if caught smoking. There is a dedicated smoking area located on the ground floor by the driveway of the property.
What kind of plug points do your rooms have? Will I need to bring adapters?
Our plug points are Type G. The standard voltage is 240V and the standard frequency is 50Hz. Should you need an adapter, please call our hosts or front desk.
Hotel & Event Facilities
Do you have a gym and spa?
Our gym is located on Level 13M and is open 24 hours a day. We do not have a spa but our hosts will be happy to recommend spas nearby.
Is there a swimming pool?
Yes, the swimming pool is located on Level 13 and is open from [insert time here]. As there is no lifeguard on duty, we ask all guests—especially those with children—to take care and swim at their own risk.
Are you pet-friendly?
We do not allow pets.
Do you provide laundry service?
Laundry and dry cleaning is available for a fee. Please call our hosts if you wish to do so.

We have 5 restaurants and bars throughout the property.

Mediterranean cuisine prepared over the Josper grill — featuring ocean-fresh seafood, char-grilled meats, and seasonal produce.

Room service is available 24 hours. You may find the room service menu at your in-room desk or on the in-room TV.

Our Spaces
What spaces are available at the hotel for events?
For more conventional meetings and weddings, we have 7 meeting rooms and 1 grand ballroom with banqueting and AV facilities. All our restaurant and bars can also accommodate private events. What is the capacity of your ballroom?
